About the Manufacturer
The Kilbeggan distillery was built in 1757 in the heart of Ireland. It has been well-known for a long time, alongside the distilleries "Tyrconnell", "Ainishowen", and "Dooks". The distillery was founded by Matthias McManus in 1757. As a true talented businessman, he managed to keep the business even in 1798, during a major uprising, which led to conditions of political instability in the country. Nevertheless, the quality of the products remained unchanged throughout these difficult times, until the era of Prohibition. The next period was marked by a slight decline, but competent management changed the situation, restoring and even enhancing the quality of the whiskey. However, in 1957, the distillery was closed. In 1988, Kilbeggan production was acquired by Cooley distillery. The "Kilbeggan" brand was revived, a new attractive packaging design was developed, and in 1994, "Kilbeggan" whiskey secured a strong and successful position in the market.
