About the Manufacturer
Casa Vinicola Canella was founded in September 1947 by Luciano Canella, who still leads the company with the help of his children. Luciano's parents had a small family restaurant in San Dona di Piave (30 km northwest of Venice), where Luciano managed the wine supplies. Discovering his interest in wine, he began to study oenology more deeply. Thanks to Luciano Canella's passion for innovation and new technologies, his wines are always produced using the latest developments. From the very beginning, Luciano placed great importance on appearance, so the wine is bottled in uniquely shaped bottles with elegant labels. In the 1980s, Canella, specializing in sparkling wines, used excellent grapes from the Piave area, as well as Prosecco from Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, later joining the Prosecco Consortium. Due to Canella's passion for Prosecco and the company's innovative spirit, the production of wine and fruit-based cocktails began, including the Venetian cocktail Bellini, which soon gained international recognition. In the 1990s, the Canella brand became more well-known abroad, initially in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria, and later in other European countries. In 1994, the company was awarded a Gold Medal at VinItaly for using the best methods in sparkling wine production. Since 1996, Canella has owned another prestigious brand — "Deroa". In the last decade, Prosecco and cocktails from Canella have become popular worldwide, reaching the USA, Canada, Japan, and Australia.
