Frederic Savart Tire Liege Le Pinot Noir 2011

"Tire Liege" (aging under cork during the second fermentation) is a process that provides greater oxygen exposure during aging, aiming to create a deeper, more complex, and finely textured champagne, which is only undertaken by the most experienced winemakers. Frederic Savart began experimenting with this technique in 2011, sealing a limited number of magnums under cork for the second fermentation. Over the next 10 years, at each tasting of this experimental release, Frederic became increasingly convinced of the exceptional complexity of this method and began applying it to other cuvées, making it a hallmark of his unique style. In 2023, Frederic decided to disgorge and release the remaining magnums to the market, as he believes they are now at their peak. Since only 850 cuvées were produced in 2011, this is one of the rarest cuvées released by Frederic to date. With 12 years of aging on premium cork lees, Le Pinot Noir is one of a kind: an extraordinarily complex champagne signed by one of the greatest producers of the current generation.
