About the Manufacturer
Lignell & Piispanen is a family business founded in 1852, now managed by the sixth and seventh generations of the Nyland family. The company was founded by Gustav Ranin, who in 1859, just a few years after its establishment, acquired the then-famous Crown Distillery in the city of Kuopio. The Crown Distillery was established in 1783 by King Gustav III of Sweden and was already one of the most technologically advanced distilleries in the country. At that time, Gustav Ranin introduced the company's philosophy, which emphasized respect for the wilderness of the Northern countries and working with the products it provides.
