Domaine Andre Lorentz Riesling Alsace AOC

Maison Klipfel was founded in 1824 by Martin Klipfel, and today it is a sustainable family business with vineyards covering 40 hectares. In 1830, Martin acquired the prestigious "Clos Zisser" plot, which remains under the estate's monopoly to this day. Martin's son and grandson, Eugène and Louis Klipfel, brought significant development to the estate. They were among the first to release "Vendanges Tardives" and "Sélections de Grains Nobles" wines in 1921, more than sixty years before the official designation of these two wine styles. A significant role in the development and establishment of the winery was played by André Lorentz, a great athlete accustomed to challenges, who sought to try his hand at a new adventure in enology to achieve the pinnacle of quality in his homeland. He became a member of the Académie des Vins de France and was able to give Maison Klipfel a new impetus, developing the commercial side and multiplying initiatives to promote Alsatian wines in France and abroad. He also invested in a tasting cellar, which was brilliantly managed by his wife. A great collector, Lorentz left behind a legacy steeped in history and love. Today, the cellars of the estate house some of the rarest wines from the first half of the 20th century. Every year, Maison Klipfel sells 1,500,000 bottles of wine, with exports to more than 25 countries accounting for 20% of sales. Klipfel wines are a true synonym for quality and territorial identity.
