Interesting facts
Since its first release in 2019, Roebuck sparkling wines have won numerous trophies and awards at prestigious wine competitions, including Best Wine of the Exhibition and a Platinum Medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards. The producer has six vineyards in Sussex and Kent, where the classic trio of Champagne grape varieties – Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier – are cultivated. Each vineyard is planted with carefully selected varieties and clones best suited to the local terroir. The wines undergo extended aging on the lees to impart complexity and are characterized by an elegant style. The Classic Cuvee is crafted from a harmonious blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Meunier from the Roebuck and Little Brockhurst vineyards in West Sussex. Partial fermentation in old Burgundy oak barrels followed by extended bottle aging on the lees for at least three years gives the wine depth, richness, and complexity before disgorgement and dosage of up to 6 g/l.
About the Manufacturer
Located in the heart of Sussex countryside, near the picturesque market town of Petworth, Roebuck Estates was founded by two friends who shared a passion for fine wines and a clear vision: to create exceptional vintage sparkling wines to be enjoyed worldwide each year. To achieve their goal, they understood that they needed to grow the best grape varieties on the finest vineyards in England. Thus, in 2013, they acquired their first plot of land in West Sussex, and Roebuck Estates was born. Most of the vineyards are situated on chalky, clay, and sandy soils.
