Domaine de Pellehaut has been in existence for over four centuries. Since 1950, the company has been managed by Gaston Berou, who made significant contributions to the development of Domaine de Pellehaut. The estate is involved not only in winemaking but also in cattle breeding and grain cultivation. The vineyards are located at the highest point of the Berou family's land—about 180 meters above sea level. The predominant soils are sandy-clay with a limestone mix. The lowland area of the estate is reserved for livestock and grain cultivation. Importantly, the estate uses only compost from its own cows to fertilize the vineyards. The management of the company has now passed to Gaston's sons, Martin and Matthew Berou. They continue to adhere to the age-old traditions of wine and armagnac production while keeping an eye on innovations and implementing them in production. Products from Domaine de Pellehaut have repeatedly won awards at the "Le Concours General Agricole" and "Les Talents de lArmagnac" competitions. Since the establishment of the trading office in Bordeaux in 1883, Maison Sichel has remained a family business. For six generations, the company has been managed by successive family members. Thanks to the business acumen of Peter A. Sichel, who settled in the capital of Gironde in 1961, Maison Sichel received a new impetus that contributed to rapid development and the acquisition of an international reputation.
