Interesting facts
"Viljamovka" is a strong alcoholic beverage also known as pear brandy. It is made from the yellow Williams pear (Viljamovka), known for its bright aroma and sweet juicy taste, without the addition of artificial colors and flavorings. The production uses pears that have been dried for 2-4 weeks to increase sugar content and aroma. The slow fermentation process at a temperature of 18°C is followed by immediate distillation. The speed at this stage is very important and affects the preservation of aroma. The distillate contains many aromatic oils and is therefore slightly cloudy, so after diluting it with distilled water to the required strength, filtration is carried out. The aging of the drink for 6-8 weeks takes place in stainless steel tanks (sometimes in glass containers) at room temperature with limited access to oxygen. The vinification process aims to preserve the best varietal characteristics of the Williams pear, especially its exceptional aroma.
