The popularity of a drink like "Absolut" vodka is immense. In its class of alcohol, "Absolut" is second only to "Smirnoff" in recognition. The drink has been produced in Sweden since 1879. Today, Absolut vodka is exported to 126 countries, holding leading positions in many of them. In the USA, "Absolut" accounts for 40% of the total vodka market. The manufacturer produces a total of 16 varieties of "Absolut" vodka, each differing in flavor additives. Initially, the vodka was known to connoisseurs as "Absolut Rent Branvin", which translates to "absolutely pure vodka", made using continuous distillation technology. The essence of this process is an unlimited number of distillation cycles instead of the usual three to four. Under this brand, it was produced for 100 years, from 1879 to 1979. In honor of the product's centenary, Vin&Spirit AB underwent rebranding, after which the drink received its modern name Vodka "Absolut". Made according to the classic recipe, "Absolut" vodka contains almost no impurities. This "absolute" composition allows for crystal clarity of the drink and a clean, slightly dry taste. Flavored varieties of vodka are also popular: citrus "Absolut" Citron, vanilla "Absolut" Vanilia, grapefruit "Absolut" Ruby Red, and several others. A hot new product is "Absolut" Berri Acai with acai berries. Flavored vodka contains no sugar and includes only natural components.
