About the Manufacturer
The ancient lineage of the Serena family began in 1390 in Venice. Among the family members were important political figures, landowners, and even glass masters. Pietro Serena, the founder of Vinicola Serena, was born in 1839 in the province of Treviso. In 1881, in Crocetta del Montello, Pietro built the first distillery where wine was stored and sold in wooden barrels. After the First and Second World Wars, the third generation of the Serena family began bottling their wines for sale in glass bottles. During the management of the company by Adolfo Serena in 1967, the company was moved to Susegana. In the 70s, when the reins of power passed to his sons Gerardo and Giorgio, it was a time of great change for the company. In 1987, the company began selling wine in steel barrels. In the 90s, Vinicola Serena invested a large amount of capital and resources to start producing wine in kegs, becoming a leader in this industry. To this day, Serena wines are mainly sold in barrels, especially in the Italian market. In 2011, the company celebrated its 130th anniversary and officially received the status of "Historical Society of Italy" from the Treviso Chamber of Commerce.
