Interesting facts
Champagne M. Hostomme Blanc de Blancs is covered with spots of dried mud and shards of blue wax. The rusty wire cage and prematurely darkened cork only add to the mystery of this bottle from the depths. Only 750 bottles were produced, and this Grand Cru Brut was aged for a whole year at a depth of 200 feet off the coast of the remote island of Ouessant. Before secretly submerging it underwater to avoid theft, the 100% Chardonnay, released in a very limited edition, spent 10 years on the lees after fermentation in stainless steel tanks and French Burgundy oak barrels. The name Vikka, translated from Old Norse, means traveler and pays homage to the Scandinavian roots of the Hostomme House. Extra brut - 4 g/l.
About the Manufacturer
M. Hostomme is one of the oldest estates in Champagne. The first mentions of this estate date back to the 16th century. In the late 19th century, Paul Hostomme decided to abandon mixed farming to focus solely on winemaking and wine production. He also became one of the local leaders in the fight against phylloxera. In the 1930s, Marcel Hostomme produced the first bottles under the "M. Hostomme" label. Today, the estate is managed by representatives of the fourth generation of the family — Laurent Hostomme and his wife Christelle, who successfully continue the traditions of family winemaking, producing fresh, elegant wines from Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier, and Pinot Noir grapes. The annual production volume is about 100,000 bottles.
