Interesting facts
"Nani Otello" Extra Dry is an elegant white sparkling wine that captivates with its noble and pure taste and an amazing aroma reminiscent of fine perfume. The small, exquisite, precious word "nani" is used by the elderly in the Parmigiano region to refer to their beloved children. The sparkling wine "Nani" is named in honor of the sons of Otello Ceci — Bruno and Giovanni, who today run the Ceci winery and promote its current philosophy. The Chardonnay harvest for the wine is collected in the first half of September. After delicate pressing and a brief maceration of one hour, the must is separated from the skins. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature. After that, the wine is stabilized for several months, racked off the lees, and aged in French oak barrels for six months. The subsequent secondary fermentation lasts for 9 months.
About the Manufacturer
In the 1930s, Otello Ceci, a well-known innkeeper in the province of Parma, served traditional salami and Lambrusco in his small trattoria, which he produced himself by buying grapes from local growers. He noticed that his Lambrusco was very much liked and appreciated by people. His sons closely observed their father's work and soon began to actively assist him. Soon, winemaking became the main activity of Otello and his sons. When the sons grew up, they decided to focus on producing local wines, thus founding the Ceci winery. Later, the grandchildren joined them. Today, the Ceci winery produces more than two million bottles of wine annually. Relying on the rich traditions of the region, the intellect and vision of the new generation of the family, who run the company, allow for success not only in improving product quality but also in conveying the image of Lambrusco. Thus, the reputation of Ceci was formed, a name that today is associated with the quality of Lambrusco. Recently, collaboration with the Borgo di Rieti brewery led to the creation of a craft beer line that used Lambrusco yeast.
