About the Manufacturer
The first vineyard of Chateau La Barotte, covering 7 hectares, was planted in 1930 by René Guerin. Gradual improvements and expansion of cultivated areas led to the creation of the company EARL Guerin, which owns 48 hectares of vineyards in three communes: Aubie Espressas, Saint Andre de Cubzac, and Lalande de Fronsac to the north of Gironde. The estate grows typical grape varieties for the region, such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Sauvignon Blanc. The soils are homogeneous and consist of limestone and clay with iron oxide. The oceanic climate is favorable for grape cultivation. The presence of the Gulf Stream along the Gironde coast reduces temperature peaks both in summer and winter. In Saint-André-de-Cubzac, a moderate climate prevails with rains falling from early autumn to late winter. The Chateau produces red and white wines in a typical Bordeaux style at accessible prices, with an annual output of 18,000 bottles.
