Interesting facts
Classic European grape varieties Chardonnay and Pinot Noir were among the first to appear in Abrau-Durso nearly 150 years ago. Today, the creation of single-varietal sparkling wines allows for a detailed exploration of the potential of these varieties in the terroir of Abrau-Durso and showcases the craftsmanship of the winemakers of the Russian Wine House "Abrau-Durso". The "Brut d’Or" collection, consisting of four single-varietal wines, is created from hand-picked grapes from the best plots of the Abrau-Durso vineyards. In the winemaking process, only whole bunches and cuvée (the first pressing juice) are used, which preserves the fullness and complexity of varietal aroma. The sparkling wines of the collection are aged in the mountain tunnels of Abrau-Durso for at least three years and have excellent aging potential. "Brut d’Or" Blanc de Blanc is a premium sparkling wine, a jewel of the Abrau-Durso house. Its production uses selected Chardonnay grapes grown in the company's own vineyards. The sparkling wine is best served as an aperitif and pairs wonderfully with complex seafood dishes. "Brut d`Or" Blanc de Blanc has received numerous prestigious awards, including a silver medal at "Mundus Vini, 2021", bronze medals at "Decanter, 2020", "IWC, 2021" and "IWSC, 2020", and gold at "Mundus Vini, 2020" and "SVVR Cup, 2021".
