About the Manufacturer
The Villa Romanov winery belongs to Andrey Romanov. Construction of the enterprise began in 2007, with vineyards planted in several stages from 2009 to 2013, and the first harvest was collected in 2016. The estate is located in an incredibly picturesque place—on the Golubitskaya Spit, between the Akhtanizovsky Liman and the Azov Sea. Here, breathtaking views of the Taman Peninsula open up. The company manages 231 hectares of vineyards, where 7 grape varieties are grown—Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. The enterprise is equipped with high-tech equipment made in Italy. The cellars occupy about 3000 m². This is where all the wines are aged. The terroir of the estate is quite specific: in winter, warm air currents from the sea and liman provide the vineyards with sufficient warmth, thus saving them from freezing, while in summer—necessary coolness, preventing drought and burning. The grapes grow at different heights above sea level. The soils of the vineyards are rich in minerals and contain sand with clay. In 2018, it was decided to rename the company to Golubitskoe Estate, as a tribute to the unique land that became the site of a new wine project.
