Interesting facts
"Filare" Trebbiano d`Abruzzo is a pleasant, light wine made from Trebbiano d’Abruzzo grapes grown in an organic vineyard in Abruzzo. The harvest takes place in the last decade of September. At the winery, the bunches undergo destemming, followed by low-temperature maceration in contact with the skins. Fermentation lasts 15-20 days in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures, after which the wine is aged in steel containers. This wine pairs beautifully with salads, fish dishes, vegetables, poultry, seafood, light snacks, and soft cheeses.
About the Manufacturer
Collefrisio is a winery managed by two young representatives of the third generation of winemakers. 35 hectares of land, divided into three vineyards, are located amidst picturesque landscapes on the hills of the Abruzzo region. The company's philosophy is based on the principle of "organic viticulture," and a love for the land along with ideal climatic conditions—sea breezes and proximity to mountains—allow for the creation of truly beautiful wines with a warm, expressive character. The Collefrisio estate consists of three vineyards. The first, Tenuta Valle del Moro, covers an area of 12 hectares and is located in the Moro Valley. Here, on well-drained stony and calcareous soils, grapes of the Montepulciano and Trebbiano varieties are grown. It also features a magnificent estate, the winery's new cellars, and a terrace overlooking the valley that stretches from the Majella mountain range to the coast. The second vineyard, Tenuta Morrecine, also spans 12 hectares on rocky soil between the hills of Ortona and Tollo, with a view of the sea, where the same grape varieties are cultivated. The third vineyard, Tenuta Giuliano Teatino, covers 11 hectares and is located on the slopes of the Majella mountain range, closer to the Venna river valley. On soils composed of red clay, grapes of the Montepulciano and Pecorino varieties are grown. Adhering to organic farming, the company does not use chemical treatments. Harvesting begins only when the berries are fully ripe. Cold maceration, strict temperature control during fermentation, and prolonged aging in cellars allow for outstanding results, delighting connoisseurs of elegant beverages with well-balanced, rich, and vibrant white and red wines. At Collefrisio, there is a very responsible and caring attitude towards the culture of winemaking, the grapes grown, and the production process, skillfully combining high standards of quality with large production volumes. Special attention is given to the winery's cellars, which are entirely built underground, beneath the uprooted vineyard. This allows for low temperatures, and to maintain a balance of temperature and humidity, some sections of the cellars are additionally equipped with air conditioning. A special research laboratory, magnificent wine cellars, and a well-established logistics and shipping system worldwide are the main components of the company's success and recognition among discerning consumers and wine experts. For true gourmets and wine lovers, a magnificent tasting room is open, where guests are always warmly welcomed.
