Famille Cordier Pouilly Fuisse Vieilles Vignes AOP 2023

Famille Cordier, Pouilly Fuisse "Vieilles Vignes" AOP is a charming white wine made from grapes of the French variety Chardonnay, whose vines have been growing for 60–80 years in the communes of Fuissé and Vergisson. The vines, planted in dense limestone soils with fossils, produce a wine with bright minerality, lively acidity, and elegant structure. The age of the vines enhances the depth of flavor: each berry concentrates the energy of the terroir and the years of root struggle in rocky soil. The grapes are hand-harvested at their optimal ripeness, then whole clusters are pressed using a pneumatic press, and the resulting must is transferred to open oak barrels of over 1000 liters by gravity. Spontaneous fermentation occurs in these barrels. The wine is then aged in old oak barrels of 350 liters for 8–10 months, and finally, it matures for another 4 months in stainless steel tanks before being gravity bottled without filtration and fining.
