Interesting facts
Brut Reserve Champagne is a magnificent example of impeccable style and high quality from the House of Roger. The blend of this champagne, which was named "White Foil" back in 1849, consists of 30 base wines from 3 grape varieties — Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier from different harvest years, sourced from the best vineyards in Champagne. Pinot Noir gives the champagne density, tannicity, and depth of character, Pinot Meunier fills it with energy and freshness, while Chardonnay adds lightness and elegance. The champagne combines an extraordinary balance of breezy freshness and aristocratic complexity. During the production of the champagne, a long fermentation is carried out at controlled temperatures in deep cellars. The remuage of the champagne is done manually, and the blend is aged in the cellar for at least three years. Such prolonged aging allows the wine to express the most subtle nuances of aroma. The "Brut Reserve" champagne has excellent aging potential.
About the Manufacturer
The history of Pol Roger — one of the finest champagne houses — began over 150 years ago. The "Pol Roger" house is located in the heart of Champagne — Épernay. Throughout its history, the house has been owned by only one family. Today, the champagne house belongs to the grandchildren of the founders — Christian de Billy and Christian Pol-Roger. "Pol Roger" owns over 80 hectares of vineyards located in the best areas of Champagne, and it supplies 60% of its grapes for wine production. The remaining grapes are purchased from farmers with whom the "Pol Roger" house has collaborated for a long time. This allows for quality control at the initial stage of champagne production. The history of "Pol Roger" is closely linked to the name of the famous Englishman — Sir Winston Churchill, who drank "Pol Roger" champagne as early as 1908. A well-known aesthete, he preferred this wine over all others and remained loyal to it throughout his life. The famous phrase by Winston Churchill: "I cannot live without champagne. After victory, I deserve it, and after defeat, I need it". In his honor, since 1975, a unique champagne "Sir Winston Churchill" has been produced — one of the rarest cuvées in the world. The "Pol Roger" house supplied wines to the court of Queen Elizabeth II. The illustrious list of fans of this brand includes such notable figures as billionaire Rockefeller and legendary French President Charles de Gaulle. It is no surprise, as the "Pol Roger" brand is considered one of the most prestigious — this champagne is distinguished by the highest quality, elegance, and aristocratic style.
