About the Manufacturer
Until 1950, the Schaflerhof estate belonged to the Esterházy family. In 1966, it was acquired by the artist Anton Lehmden, and in 2004 by Hans Igler. This marks the beginning of Hans Igler wine production. The main vineyards of the estate are Ried Hochberg, Ried Fabian, and Ried Goldberg. They are located at an altitude of 240 meters above sea level, with the first vines planted in the 1960s. Excellent climatic conditions, favorable soil, and careful vineyard management are the foundation for the high quality of the products produced. Since 2010, Clemens Reisner, the grandson of the estate's founder, has joined the family business. Young and ambitious, he trained at Veritas in Australia, as well as at Châteaus Canon La Gaffelière in Bordeaux. Today, Hans Igler owns 40 hectares of vineyards, 97% of which are planted with red varieties and only 3% with white varieties. The wines are popular not only among locals but also beyond Austria.
