About the Manufacturer
Paladin wineries are located between Veneto and Friuli, where two regional cultures blend together. The vineyards were planted here along the ancient Roman road Postumia, on calcareous clay soil formed during the last glaciation on the banks of the Tagliamento River, using modern winemaking methods. The history of the winery began in 1962 when Valentino Paladin revealed and developed his winemaking skills thanks to the energy expended by his children Carlo, Lucia, and Roberto. In 1977, the Paladin family acquired their first vineyards in Annone Veneto, an area known for its high-quality grape production. The old vineyards were gradually replaced with new concept plants, thanks to fruitful collaboration with the Sperimentaleperla Viticoltura Institute in Conegliano. In 1985, a new and modern winery was built in Annone Veneto, near the Boscodel Merlo estate. Along with the development of the winery's technical capabilities, the number of employees also increased. Highly qualified and dedicated staff participate in the winemaking project with great enthusiasm. In the late 90s, the family acquired another 50 hectares of land in Lisondi Portogruaro, which is the heart of this wine region. Today, the Boscodel Merlo estate consists of 100 hectares. The beginning of the new millennium was marked by other significant milestones in the history of the winery. In the spring of 2001, new headquarters were officially opened: a beautiful villa built in Palladian style, which houses the head office, commercial and administrative departments. Here, cellars and tasting rooms create an exciting atmosphere.
