Interesting facts
Vin Blanc de Palmer is a luxurious white wine produced from a blend of three grape varieties — Muscadell, Loset, and Sauvignon Gris. In the early 20th century, it was customary in the main châteaux of Médoc to produce a few barrels of white wine intended exclusively for the owners of the Château. Two bottles of white wine Chateau Palmer, dated 1925, were discovered in the late 1990s with a French collector. In the early 2000s, to continue the tradition, Muscadelle, Sauvignon Gris, and Loset vines were replanted on several feet of vineyards. Vin Blanc de Palmer has been produced since 2007 in limited quantities for the owners and guests of the Château. In 2012, the owners of Château Palmer sold part of the production from the 2010 harvest to the Bergonie Institute (Regional Cancer Center of Bordeaux and the Southwest), so today La Maison Sichel is the sole distributor of this delightful wine.
About the Manufacturer
Chateau Palmer is located in the Margaux appellation of the Bordeaux region. The wine produced here is one of fourteen wines that received the classification of Troisiemes Crus in the famous 1885 Médoc wine classification. Moreover, Chateau Palmer's wine is considered one of the two most popular wines of this class. In 2004, the shareholders of Chateau Palmer appointed young oenologist Thomas Duroux as manager. Duroux already had experience working in California and Italy, and upon returning to his homeland, Bordeaux, he was very excited about the upcoming work. The shareholders asked him to conduct a "quiet" revolution at Chateau Palmer, gradually improving production quality, responding to market demands while maintaining traditions. For Chateau Palmer, this is not the first experience of reforming but another stage in a long process that began long ago and continues to this day. The Grand Cru classification is characterized by both time and space, and the wines of Chateau Palmer convey the spirit of these places. Soft as silk, refined as velvet, and noble as leather, these wines carry a unique balance of rich aromas and powerful tannins.
