Interesting facts
The remarkable white wine "Villa Antinori" was first created in 1931 by Niccolo Antinori himself. Since then, not only the label but also the philosophy and traditions of making this wine, which captivates with its floral aromas and freshness of ripe fruits, have remained virtually unchanged. The only thing that has undergone changes is the varietal composition of the blend. In the early years of production, the wine was made from only two grape varieties—Trebbiano and Malvasia. Then, to give the wine's taste greater depth and volume, other grape varieties were added to the blend, such as Riesling, Pinot Bianco, and Pinot Grigio. After the harvest, the bunches were gently pressed, and the resulting must was cooled to 18 °C. Fermentation then took place in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperature conditions (18 °C). As a result, the 2016 vintage demonstrates an excellent fresh taste and a delicate aroma.
About the Manufacturer
Antinori is the oldest winemaking estate in Tuscany, having been producing wine for over 600 years! Many Antinori wines, thanks to their innovative approach and virtuosic blends, have literally revolutionized the wine market. Most Antinori wines are not inferior in properties to the best examples of Bordeaux, while at the same time comparing favorably in price. The world-renowned wine expert Robert Parker said: "Antinori is, without a doubt, the greatest name in Italian winemaking. During a tasting of Antinori wines, the main thing happens—an understanding of the quality of the wine is instilled."
