Interesting facts
"Au Sommet", 2013 is an extraordinary, expressive, luscious wine from the eponymous winery, reflecting the entire vibrancy of vintage style in its abundant, explosive individuality. The name "Au Sommet" translates from French as "at the summit" and has several meanings: the high location of the estate's vineyard on the slopes of Atlas Peak (at an elevation of 2100 feet), as well as the high standard of quality that the winery sets for itself. The wine "Au Sommet" is produced from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, to which, depending on the vintage, a small percentage of Petit Verdot (about 4-5%) may be added. Only estate-grown grapes are used, which are not sold to other winemakers.
About the Manufacturer
The winery Au Sommet was founded in 2008 by renowned enologist Heidi Peterson Barrett, whom Robert Parker called the First Lady of Wine, and her longtime friend John Schwartz—a highly talented individual who made food and wine an integral part of his life many years ago. The partners acquired 2.8 hectares of land in Atlas Peak and began a joint wine project. Atlas Peak in Napa Valley is one of the highest wine regions in the world. The estate's vineyards with Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot vines are located on slopes at an elevation of about 2100 feet above sea level (600-700 meters). The vineyards have rocky, volcanic, well-drained soils. The vines are grown organically, and sometimes chicken coops are moved across the rows of vineyards. The garden on the premises of Au Sommet sells natural fresh produce, including cheese made from its own goat's milk. More details: https://spb.winestyle.ru
