Interesting facts
The grapes for the exquisite Lanson "Black Label" Brut cuvée are exclusively harvested from Premier and Grand Cru vineyards. The blend predominantly features Pinot Noir grapes from such great Grand Cru appellations of Champagne as Oger, Avize, Verzy, and Bouzy. For this champagne, harvests from 50 different plots were used. The champagne is made using the traditional method with secondary fermentation in the bottle. Interestingly, Lanson never conducts malolactic fermentation for its wines. This preserves the natural richness of flavor and aroma, as well as a high level of acidity, which influences the wine's aging potential. After vinification, the champagne is aged on its lees for about three years, although the law requires a minimum of 15 months. The "Black Label" Brut champagne has won 7 gold medals and one double gold medal at various international competitions.
About the Manufacturer
The House of Lanson is one of the oldest champagne houses in France. It was founded in 1760 by one of the knights of the Maltese Order — Jean-Baptiste Lanson. This fact explains the presence of the Maltese cross as the coat of arms and symbol of this House. The champagnes of the House of Lanson have gained international recognition for their magnificent quality and extraordinarily fresh taste. The House of Lanson is the official supplier to the English Royal Court.
