Interesting facts

"7 Crus" is an elegant, surprisingly open cuvée that demonstrates a unique combination of richness and purity. The Champagne is named for the fact that the harvest for its production is sourced from 70% Grand Cru vineyards and 30% Premier Cru vineyards in seven villages of the Côte de Blanc: Avize, Oger, and others. Initially, the cuvée was created solely from Chardonnay grapes, but recently the blend has changed to include 10% Pinot Noir. "7 Crus" is a multi-vintage cuvée, consisting of harvests from two consecutive years (for example, 2012 and 2013), taken in approximately equal parts. After fermentation and malolactic fermentation, the wine is bottled without fining or filtration and aged on the lees for 3 years. The lees are periodically stirred by hand. The dosage of residual sugar in the cuvée is 7 g/l, which is quite high by the winery's standards, but perfectly complements the fruity notes of the Champagne without a sense of overt sweetness.

About the Manufacturer

The Agrapart winery was founded by Arthur Agrapart in the mid-19th century in Avize, in the heart of the Côte de Blanc region. In the 1950s and 60s, Arthur's son, Pierre, significantly expanded the family's holdings, increasing the vineyard area to 12 hectares. The vineyards are mainly located in the villages of Avize, Oger, Cramant, and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and are primarily classified as Grand Cru. The chalky soils of the 50 plots owned by the Agrapart family, characteristic of the Côte de Blanc, allow for the cultivation of exceptional quality Chardonnay grapes. These grapes produce wines of unique freshness, elegance, and refinement. The age of the vines ranges from 40 to 65 years. From the very beginning, the Agrapart family has paid great attention to grape growing, carefully controlling the ripening period and performing all work manually. This ensures that Agrapart wines not only maintain consistently high quality but also express the terroir beautifully.
