Interesting facts
Wine Chateau Pey La Tour is made from Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot grapes. The soil composition in the vineyards of Chateau Pey La Tour is extremely diverse: clay-limestone soil with a clay content often exceeding 50% is ideal for growing Merlot, while clay-gravel soils are excellent for the other varieties. The harvest is collected when the berries reach optimal ripeness, starting with Merlot, followed by Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot. After harvesting, the grapes are sent to the winery, where, after careful sorting and destemming, they are pressed. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Each variety is vinified separately. The wine is aged in steel containers for 10-12 months. Chateau Pey La Tour has won gold and silver medals at prestigious competitions such as the "Concours General Agricole Paris", "International Wine Challenge", "Decanter World Wine Awards", and "Concours des Grands Vins de France Macon."
