Interesting facts
Chateau Teyssier is a magnificent red dry wine of exceptional quality, crafted in a true Bordeaux style — with a deep, dense, noble, and pure taste, excellent balance, rich texture, and great aging potential. The harvest is collected when the grapes reach optimal ripeness from 35-year-old vines. The must is fermented in stainless steel tanks at strictly controlled temperatures. After aging in French oak barrels, 30% of which are new, for 12-18 months, the wine acquires subtle and elegant nuances of oak and spices. In 2010, an independent jury of professionals from the USA rated this wine as one of the 100 modern Bordeaux wines of high quality at an accessible price.
About the Manufacturer
The history of Chateau Teyssier dates back to the fifteenth century. The ancient castle is located a few miles northeast of Saint-Emilion. The vineyards of the Chateau, covering 19 hectares, spread across clay-limestone soils typical of this area. Here, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon are primarily grown, with a small proportion of Cabernet Franc. Since 1993, the Chateau has been managed by the renowned négociant Dourthe, who has invested significant resources in improving the vineyard and reconstructing the winery.
