Interesting facts
"Chateau Reysson" is an outstanding wine representing a modern interpretation of classic Medoc. The wine possesses an elegant fruity aroma, a perfectly balanced taste with rich, deep, captivating tones of plum, cherry, and mocha coffee. After a promising start in 2014, a gloomy summer unexpectedly slowed the ripening of the grapes. However, all worries were left behind when a long, warm period arrived at the end of August. The quality of the vintage is also largely due to meticulous work in the vineyards. Harvesting began on September 24 with Merlot and ended on October 10 with Cabernet Franc. The main characteristics of the vintage were the remarkable silkiness of the taste and incredible aromaticity. The 2014 vintage has received numerous awards and medals, including a gold medal at "Mundus Vini", silver medals at "Concours de Bordeaux Vins d'Aquitaine", "Concours Mondial de Bruxelles", "Challenge International du Vin", and "Concours des Grands Vins de France."
About the Manufacturer
Chateau Reysson is located near the town of Vertheuil in the heart of Haut-Medoc. The wines of the chateau quickly gained recognition for their highest quality. In 1850, Charles Cox, author of the famous book "Bordeaux and its Wines", noted Chateau Reysson as an "Outstanding Cru". The vineyard of the chateau, located on a high hill, benefits from a special sunny exposure, and the soil type of clay and limestone is very suitable for the Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grown here. Since 2001, a program has been implemented in the vineyard to enhance the quality of agricultural practices to fully utilize the potential of this terroir, and the winery has been renovated. The wines of Chateau Reysson are aged in oak barrels, one-third of which are renewed annually, for 16 to 18 months.
