Interesting facts
The luxurious aged red wine "Laudum" XII Plus, 2020 is a sample of the true Mediterranean spirit. Carefully selected Monastrell grapes are grown on 40-year-old vines in the Vinalopó River valley, in the geographical triangle of the Alicante province formed by the areas of Cascante in La Cañada, Rincón del Moro in Sax, and La Caholla in Castalla. The vintage underwent 2 stages of aging: 12 months in new French oak barrels and 12 months in bottle. The wine is bottled in original bottles styled like a Roman column, drawing a parallel with the Latin name of the line ("laudum" translates as "praise, excellence"). The packaging design was awarded the World Design Award at the American competition "The Dieline Awards" in 2016. The "Laudum" XII Plus vintage of 2020 has been awarded a gold medal at the "Bacchus Awards 2024."
About the Manufacturer
Bodegas Bocopa was founded in 1987 when a group of small wine cooperatives from Alicante joined forces to expand markets. This decision was pivotal, and the new company quickly gained a leading position in Valencia. The successful start of the enterprise is symbolized by the Bodegas Bocopa logo, which features tightly packed grape berries—symbolizing cooperation and interaction. The first jointly produced wine of the brand “Vina Alone” won three gold medals at the Alicante Wine Exhibition. A turning point came in 1993 with the launch of the "Marina Alta" wine collection. At the VINEXPO exhibition in Bordeaux, considered one of the most significant, wines from this brand won a gold medal. The first 50,000 bottles of “Marina Alta” sold out in just a few days. In 1996, Bodegas Bocopa began producing organic wines, becoming one of the first wineries in this then-nascent market segment. Today, the company is a global leader in the sales of wines marked with the “Bio” label.
