Interesting facts
The French vodka "Sobolinaya" was named after the sable, which symbolizes the beauty of pristine nature. Clean snow untouched by man, crisp, frosty air, incredible colors of the shimmering northern lights—this is the basis of an impeccable organic super-premium vodka. The untamed wild beauty of the Russian North merges with the refined luxury of glamorous Paris. The water used for "Sobolinaya" comes from the Portland aquifer—a natural lake located over 160 meters underground. The water is naturally purified as it travels through minerals and rocks millions of years old. The lake is protected by a 100-meter impermeable layer of clay, guaranteeing that no surface waters disturb the purity of the underground source. The French vodka is produced in the famous Cognac province using organic ingredients. The bottle features an engraved sable figure and is made of special glass so that the light passing through it recreates the effect of the aurora borealis dancing in the sky.
About the Manufacturer
The company Merlet & Fils was founded in 1850 by Firmin Merlet, heir to a famous dynasty of winemakers, near the French village of Saint-Sauvant, in the Saintonge region. Merlet began by distilling cognac, which was supplied to the Hennessy house. Starting in the 1970s, Gilles Merlet, in addition to grapes, began growing blackcurrants. The result of this risky production experiment was the unique cream liqueur "Crème de Cassis," which marked the beginning of the creation of a full range of berry cream liqueurs. The company also began producing cognacs under its own brand "Le Maître," using the best spirits from the company, aged in Limousin oak casks. Since 2005, Merlet & Fils has been owned by Pierre and Luc Merlet, who pay special attention to the development of new brands.
