Interesting facts
"Chateau Grenouilles" can truly be called the best in the producer's collection. The wine is made from the harvest of forty-year-old Chardonnay vines grown on small plots with a south-western exposure on the right bank of the Serin. The grapes are harvested by hand at the peak of ripeness several times a season, after which the berries are carefully sorted and gently pressed. Before fermentation, the grape juice is settled for 12–20 hours at a low temperature, after which it is transferred to small oak barrels and steel tanks, where alcoholic and malolactic fermentation take place. The wine is aged on fine lees for 20 months.
About the Manufacturer
La Chablisienne traces its history back to 1923. It was in this year that several winemakers decided to join forces to survive the economic crisis. Today, the company unites about 300 estates and owns 25% of the vineyards in Chablis, famous all over the world for its high-quality white wines. All La Chablisienne wines are made from Chardonnay grapes, which, thanks to the unique limestone soils of Chablis, acquire delightful fruit aromas and a rich variety of mineral notes. Every year the company produces about thirty different wines, each with a distinct personality. At the same time, much attention is paid to soil cultivation, and biodynamic methods and a minimum amount of fertilizers are used for vine cultivation.
