Interesting facts
"Pianer" Extra Dry is a classic version of Valdobbiadene DOCG, the best-selling wine at both regional and national levels. The wine combines aromatic and velvety flavors with a clear liveliness of bubbles that relaxes, gently enveloping while remaining dry due to a good level of acidity. Harvesting for the wine takes place from mid-September to mid-October. Vinification begins with gentle pressing of the grapes, followed by the first fermentation of the must at controlled temperatures. Secondary fermentation using the Charmat method occurs in an autoclave – a special airtight container – at controlled temperatures.
About the Manufacturer
The Le Colture winery is located in Santo Stefano di Valdobbiadene – a small village among hilly vineyards. The Le Colture farm has been owned by the Ruggeri family for over 500 years. In 1983, Cesare Ruggeri founded a sparkling wine production business, and today he is the custodian of an extraordinarily rich experience consisting of small and large production secrets: from knowledge of the terroir and varietal characteristics of the grapes to an innate sensitivity to vineyard quality. In recent years, Cesare's three children – Silvia, Alberto, and Veronica – have been fully involved in the family business, bringing a breath of enthusiasm and necessary innovations typical of the younger generation, while not forgetting their love for their land and respect for traditions. The cellars of the Le Colture winery are equipped with the most modern technological equipment. The 40 hectares of vineyards directly owned by Le Colture are not adjacent to the winery but are distributed among 16 farms in the Valdobbiadene and Conegliano area and in the Montello area. This allows for the production of wines with strong individuality with specific characteristics related to very specific soil-climate features and terroirs.
