Interesting facts
The white dry sparkling wine Cuvee "Astoria Lounge" Brut from the "Its Lounge Time!" collection is produced from typical aromatic white grape varieties of the Treviso province, including Glera. The grapes grow on sunny hills in the "Val de Brun" estate. The average age of the vines is 8-12 years. Harvesting takes place in September. After gentle pressing, a brief maceration and static decantation of the must are performed. Primary fermentation occurs in steel tanks at a temperature of 18-19 °C with selected yeasts. The young wine is aged on noble lees for several weeks. Secondary fermentation lasts 20-25 days. After this, the cuvee matures on the yeast sediment for several weeks, is bottled, and ages until full harmony is achieved. The "Astoria Lounge" cuvee is recommended to be served well chilled, in an ice bucket.
About the Manufacturer
The company A.C., producing wines under the "Astoria" brand, was founded in 1987 by brothers Paolo and Giorgio Polegato, sons of Vittorio Polegato, who half a century ago became the founder of the now very well-known winery "Antonini Ceresa" (A.C.). Astoria wines are mainly produced from grapes grown in their own estate "Val de Brun" in Refrontolo, right in the heart of the Conegliano-Valdobbiadene area. In a short time, the brand gained fame for its range and quality of wines, as well as the stylish design of its bottles. In addition to the famous Prosecco, a symbol of Veneto winemaking, the brothers produce sparkling wines from other grape varieties, as well as sweet wines. In 2015, the first certified organic Prosecco was introduced to the Astoria range.
