Interesting facts
Gewürztraminer (Traminer Aromatico) is an aromatic grape variety that has the same primary aromas found in ripe grapes. The softness and consistency of this wine, along with its pronounced and intense aromatic profile, make Gewürztraminer one of the most distinctive and immediately recognizable wines. The sparkling production of Gewürztraminer is the result of an original process implemented by Cantine Maschio, which has maximized the potential of this special grape variety.
About the Manufacturer
In the Treviso plain in the northern part of the Veneto region, on the hills of Conegliano Veneto, the descendant of the famous winemakers Bonaventura Maschio built his winery in 1973. Drawing on the rich experience and traditions of his ancestors, Maschio introduced many innovative technological solutions into the winemaking process. For instance, the use of cold pressing ensures excellent quality and preserves the freshness and aroma of the grapes. At Maschio's vineyards, all possible varieties for producing sparkling wines are grown: Pinot Rosso, Chardonnay, Prosecco, Verduzzo, Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon, Traminer, and others. Harvesting takes place from August to October, depending on climatic factors. The grapes are always picked at optimal ripeness, achieving a balance between sugar and acidity suitable for the production of a specific wine. The modern presses installed at the winery allow for very delicate and gentle extraction of juice from crushed berries. Only the juice from the first pressing is used for wine production, which is immediately cooled to prevent fermentation and preserve all natural qualities. All wines — both sparkling and champagne — are produced only by the method of single alcoholic fermentation. Today, it can be said that over 35 years of experience, strong production capacities, trusting relationships with consumers, consistent quality, and the uniqueness of the wines' taste make Cantine Maschio a prestigious name in Italian winemaking.
