Chateau Cos d`Estournel Saint-Estephe AOC 2-er Grand Cru Classe 2018
200000 ₸
/ pcs.Deep purple-black.
The wine needs a little time to reveal its powerful aroma with notes of cream, stewed plums, forest blueberries, and cherries in chocolate, followed by nuances of Sichuan pepper, star anise, wood, and clove.
Finely structured and bright, simultaneously powerful and balanced taste with fruity-spicy accents, very soft tannins, fresh acidity, and an extremely long, persistent, earthy finish.
The wine pairs well with various meat dishes — beef with mushrooms, veal with vegetables, game, as well as cheeses.

Interesting facts
Like a novelist who maintains the same style across various stories, the Grand Cru wine is capable of expressing its specific style in different years. Chateau Cos d’Estournel has become, in the eyes of wine lovers, an archetype of a certain style of masculine elegance, where immense power is combined with grace and softness. Aged in new (50%) and two-year-old (50%) French oak barrels for 18 months, the 2018 vintage demonstrates an astonishing balance of strength and elegance. The 2018 vintage requires at least 7-10 years of additional aging. Overall, the wine will age beautifully and develop over 40-50 years. The growing season in 2018 in Saint-Estephe began, like in most Bordeaux regions, with a mild winter. However, a rainy spring triggered outbreaks of rot and mold. The summer months were so hot and dry that there was a real risk of dehydration for some vines. However, the soils, over-saturated with spring rains, now played an important role in maintaining the hydration of the vines in the upcoming dry months. High temperatures helped bring the grapes to full phenolic ripeness, while cooler nights preserved acidity and aroma in the grapes. Good weather in the fall allowed for the harvest to be done in ideal conditions. As a result, stunning wines were produced, the best of which were dark in color, with a luxurious aroma and high alcohol content. However, soft tannins, pure acidity, and aroma helped to balance the alcohol, providing the necessary equilibrium.
About the Manufacturer
The founder of Chateau Cos d`Estournel — Louis Gaspar d'Estournel was born in 1762 during the reign of Louis XV and lived for 91 years. Louis Gaspar had only one passion — Chateau Cos. Inherited a small vineyard, he produced his first wine in 1811 and decided to dedicate himself to vinification, experimenting with grape varieties and their processing. Quite quickly, the wines of Cos d'Estournel surpassed many of the most prestigious wines in popularity and were even exported to India. Louis earned the nickname Maharaja of Saint-Estephe. The wines of Cos d'Estournel were enjoyed by Queen Victoria and Russian tsars. Emperor Napoleon III loved these wines so much that several thousand bottles were delivered to the Tuileries Palace. A year before his death, in 1852, Louis sold the Chateau. Two years after the death of its creator, the imperial classification of 1855 placed Cos d'Estournel at the top of the Saint-Estephe region. Changing hands many times, in 2000 the Chateau came into the possession of Michel Reybier, who aims to maintain the high standards of the estate, constantly striving for perfection while continuing the style initiated by Louis Gaspar d'Estournel. Thanks to his efforts, the wines of Chateau Cos d'Estournel can now be seen in private cellars of wine lovers across Europe, Asia, and America.
