Interesting facts
"Le Grand Noir" is a line of wines named after the Cathars (priests) who wore exclusively black garments and lived until the early 17th century in the area of the current vineyards. The priests believed that people, regardless of their status and significance, should be humble before God ("God's sheep"). Since winemaker R. Joseph likes to stand out among all, he came up with the idea to place a black sheep ("black sheep") on the labels of this line. The wines fully reveal the character and potential of the local terroir. "Le Grand Noir" Chardonnay is an elegant white wine made from Chardonnay grapes (85%) and Viognier (15%). The berries grow on clay-limestone soils in the Carcassonne and Minervois appellations. Harvesting is done mechanically at night. The grapes undergo cold maceration followed by gentle pressing. After cooling, the must undergoes fermentation. 30% of the Chardonnay wine is aged in French and American oak barrels, while the remaining 70%, including the Viognier wine, is aged on the lees in stainless steel tanks for 6 months.

The products are bottled in glass and PET bottles, using numerous options for customization.
