About the Manufacturer
The ancient 16th-century monastery surrounded by 70-year-old vineyards Duca di Dolle is located in Rolle, a tiny village in the heart of the Prosecco Superiore D.O.C.G. hills of Conegliano-Valdobbiadene, which has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2019. The estate has ancient origins: an unspoiled oasis of natural beauty and tranquility, where one can enjoy a unique and captivating experience that combines history and tradition with taste and innovation. The Duca di Dolle estate has deep historical roots. The monastery from the 16th century and already a center of winemaking now extends over 75 hectares of vineyards, forests, meadows, and pastures. Firmly believing in enhancing the value and protecting the charming Rolle area, a FAI point for landscape protection, as well as in ecological sustainability, the estate's owners wanted to keep this area as unpolluted as possible. A true oasis of silence and nature, immersed in the tranquility of the hills. Later, the estate passed into the hands of the Brandolini family until the first half of the 20th century when it became the property of the peasant poet Nino Mura. This unusual character, an amateur poet with a passion for nature and culture, opened this place in the 1950s and 1960s to selected friends, such as poets Giovanni Comisso and Andrea Zanzotto, with whom he enjoyed lively evenings. It was in 1974 that Antonio Bisol had the opportunity to meet Mura, from whom he then purchased the entire estate, which, thanks to careful restoration work, was finally improved. Indeed, Borgo di Rolle, which Zanzotto himself called a postcard sent by the gods, was declared the first FAI point in Italy for landscape protection. In 2011, Duca di Dolle was acquired by the Bacchini family, who, coming from the world of research and development, immediately decided to focus on innovation, product quality, and ecological sustainability. Since 2015, the estate's area has increased by another 53 hectares due to vineyards, forests, meadows, and pastures: investments by the Bacchini family in improving and protecting the charming Rolle area. All grapes are estate-grown, with no outside suppliers, and all work, from pruning to harvesting, is done by hand with lower yields per hectare than required by specifications. Terroir and raw materials are the main heroes of our company: a unique heritage that we care for every day with passion and dedication, as it represents our greatest value, and we are called to preserve it as others have done before us. To be an excellent winemaker for the highest quality wines.
