Interesting facts
Asolo Prosecco Superiore is one of the finest wines of the Montelvini company, made from Glera grapes harvested from the best company vineyards. The wine takes its name from the region where the grapes are grown. Asolo is a town in Veneto, known for its beauty and referred to as the "pearl of Treviso." Here, on the hills, the vineyards stretch out, and the harvest is gathered at the end of September. After gentle pressing, the must is fermented with added yeast under temperature-controlled conditions. Once fermentation is complete, the wine is filtered. This is followed by secondary fermentation, which takes place in an autoclave at 16 °C, with the addition of the tirage liqueur to the dry wine. The sparkling wine is then cooled to -4 °C and aged for some time on the lees. As a result, the wine acquires a wonderful delicate aroma and a soft, velvety texture.
About the Manufacturer
Since 1881, the history of the Treviso region has been inextricably linked with the history of the Serena family, the founders of the Montelvini winery. The work and passion for their craft have passed from father to son through five generations. However, the current president of Montelvini, Armando Serena, broke with family business tradition and built a new winery on a plot of land in Venegazzu. It is at this facility that the wines which have become a benchmark for Italian wines are produced. Today, Montelvini wines are distinguished by their unique style, combining winemaking traditions with innovation, and the highest quality.
