Interesting facts
Champagne Jeeper, Blanc de Noirs Brut is an exquisite champagne in the classic French style of Blanc de Noir (white from black). To create this, the producer uses grapes of the Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier varieties, grown in exceptional vineyards of Champagne, where oceanic and continental climates meet. The vines are predominantly planted in limestone soils. The grapes are always harvested exclusively by hand and carefully sorted. The flesh of the Pinot Noir grape is light, with colorants almost 100% in the skin. If the juice is separated from the skin before fermentation, a light grape juice and, consequently, white wine is produced. After primary fermentation and malolactic fermentation, which take place in oak barrels, the base wine is blended with reserve wine. Secondary fermentation and aging of the champagne on the lees occur in bottles according to the classic method. The bottle aging on fine lees lasts at least 3 years. After disgorgement, a dosage liqueur is added in the amount of 5 g/l.
About the Manufacturer
The former owner named his champagne house Champagne Jeeper, founded in 1949, after the Willys jeep he acquired from American soldiers at the end of World War II, which allowed him to travel through the vineyards in complete tranquility. In 2009, the champagne house was led by a notable figure in hospitality and winemaking, Michel Rebeyrie. Soon, Champagne Jeeper was talked about as a great winery. The first production batch of champagnes was made in 2010, and the first bottles were released in early 2014, representing a new image for the Jeeper brand. Champagne Jeeper, located near Reims in the northwest of the Champagne region, currently employs about 45 people. The company Champagne Jeeper is based not only in France but also abroad, with offices in the USA and Japan. The company owns over 50 hectares of vineyards in some of the best sites in Montagne de Reims, Côte de Blanc, and the Marne Valley. This terroir diversity allows the company to produce a wide range of champagnes. The winery is equipped with modern facilities and has 1200 oak barrels for aging base and reserve wines. In June 2016, the champagne house received the Viticulture Durable HQE-HVE certification. The company has set a goal to eliminate carbon from its vineyards within the next five years, adopting an environmentally friendly approach based on the latest technologies.
