About the Manufacturer
Bushmills is considered the oldest distillery in the world to have received an official license to produce whiskey. This event dates back to 1608 when the distillery was owned by a certain Thomas Phillips, who was in the proximity of the King of Northern Ireland. It is no surprise that "Bushmills" is regarded as a benchmark for quality for whiskey produced in Ireland. Each generation of "Bushmills" owners has made their knowledgeable, wise, commercial, professional, and creative contributions to the development of the distillery, improving its production capabilities and product quality. For a considerable time, whiskey was produced using peat-dried malt. "Bushmills" was the only company to employ this method in Ireland. The uniqueness of "Bushmills" whiskey also lies in the fact that it uses only barley and employs triple distillation. Today, "Bushmills" has decided to merge with the "Coleraine" company.
