About the Manufacturer
Domaine Jean Fery & Fils is a family winery located in the picturesque village of Échevron between Beaune and Nuits-Saint-Georges. The vineyards cover more than 14 hectares (34 acres) from north to south Burgundy in renowned appellations. Jean-Louis took over the management of his parents` estate in 1988 and fulfilled his childhood dream: providing the family estate with resources for further development, carrying out necessary construction work and investments, as well as acquiring new vineyards. He now dedicates all his time to the vineyards. The vineyards are cultivated according to organic farming principles (certified by ECOCERT since 2011), which requires great dedication and physical labor. Jean-Louis organizes the work of the workers on each plot of the estate year-round. His unwavering love for the Burgundy terroir drives him to constantly acquire new vineyards to enrich the estate`s portfolio. Jean-Louis Fery`s team is responsible for the production and aging of wines according to traditional methods, with care and respect for the terroir, avoiding unnecessary mechanization and paying attention to the biological processes occurring in the vats. They are never shy about implementing innovations, using new technologies or equipment, such as new barrels, if they can be beneficial for the wine: quality is invaluable. The estate is now in the hands of Jean-Louis`s sons, Frédéric and Laurent Fery. "Wine is a bit like a child we love," explains Jean-Louis Fery. "You have to listen to it and gently help it express itself at its best."
