Interesting facts
The grapes for Villa Maria, "Private Bin" Pinot Noir are grown on specially selected vineyards in the Awatere and Wairau valleys. Different soil types and mesoclimates give the wine different tannin structures and a variety of shades in flavor and aroma. The harvest is done by hand and machine. The must undergoes cold maceration and fermentation at a controlled temperature. Vinification also involves malolactic fermentation and aging for 10 months in French oak barriques.
About the Manufacturer
