Interesting facts
"Ketel One" is a high-quality vodka from the Netherlands, named after the original copper pot still "Distilleerketel #1" used in its production. The vodka is distilled from the finest GMO-free European wheat. After fermentation, the wheat mash is distilled in a column to obtain a lively, fresh, ultra-fine wheat spirit. In the second stage, part of the wheat spirit is redistilled in ten copper pot stills, including the original 19th-century copper pot. The "heart" of the resulting distillate is filtered and combined with the remaining spirit, then diluted with pure water.
About the Manufacturer
Nolet Distillery is a family company founded in 1691 and remaining in the Nolet family for 11 generations. Over the years, the family produced a wide range of spirits, but by 1979 they had focused on one—juniper gin. That year, Carolus Nolet took over the family distillery and, responding to the American "cocktail boom," decided to create the best vodka, ideal for cocktails or for sipping neat. After several years of experimentation, based on the excellent tasting notes of his great-grandfather, Carolus discovered the perfect vodka recipe and named it "Ketel One." Exceptionally tasty, it quickly became very popular in American bars. But Carolus didn't stop there. Listening to the requests of bartenders worldwide, he created another fantastic addition to the list of cocktail spirits—"Ketel One" Citroen vodka, with the addition of lemon and lime oils. In 2010, the range was expanded with orange-flavored vodka. In 2015, "Ketel One" was recognized as the "Best Selling Vodka" and "Best Vodka of 2015" in the "World's Best Brands Ranking" by Drinks International.
