About the Manufacturer
South of the place called Montrose, near the village of Cos, are the small villages of German and Marbuzet, forming a large village in the commune of Saint-Estèphe. In the center of the estate, between the two vineyards, stands a majestic cross erected by the faithful of the village in 1882. This cross is a symbol of the union of these two names. In 1982, the wine estate Chateau German Marbuzet was founded. The name Marbuzet comes from the Latin "marga", meaning "marl", and "buxea" — "surrounded by boxwood". This name well characterizes the terroir of the estate, consisting mainly of clay-limestone gravel. The magnificent terroir is beautifully expressed in the wines of Chateau German Marbuzet, which are produced using the expertise of the famous Michel Rolland. The estate does everything possible to preserve this valuable land: thoughtful pest control, soil cultivation, landscaping... Since the 2019 vintage, the wines of Château German Marbuzet have been certified to the HVE level 3 standard (High Environmental Value).
