Interesting facts
Gulfi, "Pino" is a new challenge from Vito Catania and his enologist Salvo Foti, a red wine made from grapes grown in charming sites on the slopes of Etna. This unique, perfectly exposed location is ideal for planting young Pinot Noir seedlings and bringing one of the most challenging grape varieties in the world to full maturity. The vinification of Pinot Noir takes place in steel tanks, and aging occurs for one year in 500-liter barrels. The wine has a storage potential of 10 years.
About the Manufacturer
The history of the Gulfi winery began in 1996 thanks to Vito Catania and his family. The hallmark of the company is the red grape variety Nero d'Avola, which has brought the winery popularity worldwide. In wine production, alongside modern technologies, the traditions of Italian winemaking are utilized. Currently, Gulfi owns 70 hectares of magnificent organic vineyards in eastern Sicily, and from Nero d'Avola, they produce six different wines that impress with their depth and richness. A huge ancient wine press stands at the entrance to the winery, which has become a historical landmark.
