About the Manufacturer
Dog Point Vineyard was founded by James Healy and Ivan Sutherland, who were pioneers of New Zealand winemaking. Prior to this, they worked for a long time at the renowned Cloudy Bay estate. The vineyards of Dog Point are located in the northern part of the South Island, in one of Marlborough's regions — the Wairau Valley. The grapes grow on rich, clay loam soils with natural drainage. The primary approach used in winemaking is non-intervention in natural processes, which gives the wines an exciting purity and strength, while prolonged contact of the must with the yeast sediment imparts a solid structure to the wines.
