Interesting facts
Chateau Palmer is an excellent wine of the highest level. Refinement and elegance, softness and velvetiness are the constants for this wine. The extraordinary blend of grape varieties — Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and a small amount of Petit Verdot — gives the bouquet extraordinary complexity, with aromas of fruits, flowers, and spices enveloped in a velvety structure and dense body. The fine balance between the wine's structure, richness of aromas, and restrained tannins gives Chateau Palmer wine an incomparable charm even at a young age. The relatively high aging potential is significant. This allows the wine to fully express its flavor strength and aromatic diversity — rich and complex, sometimes exotic, but always unforgettable, they unfold with years of aging. This process continues very slowly, over many years and even decades in the bottle. The high quality of the harvest, along with very ripe tannins and high acidity, has gifted the world with a wonderful wine with a long life. The 2014 vintage is recommended for consumption from 2025 to 2055.
About the Manufacturer
Chateau Palmer is located in the Margaux appellation of the Bordeaux region. The wine produced here is one of fourteen wines that received the classification of Troisiemes Crus in the famous 1885 Médoc wine classification. Moreover, Chateau Palmer wine is considered one of the two most popular wines of this class. In 2004, the shareholders of Chateau Palmer appointed young enologist Thomas Duroux as manager. Duroux already had experience working in California and Italy, and upon returning to his homeland in Bordeaux, he was very excited about the upcoming work. The shareholders asked him to conduct a "quiet" revolution at Chateau Palmer, gradually raising production quality, responding to market demands while maintaining traditions. For Chateau Palmer, this is not the first experience of reforming but another stage in a long process that began long ago and continues to this day. The Grand Cru classification is characterized by both time and space, and Chateau Palmer wines convey the spirit of these places. Soft as silk, refined as velvet, and noble as leather, these wines carry a unique balance of rich aromas and powerful tannins.
