Interesting facts
"Chateau Malartic Lagraviere" Blanc — an impressive wine, irresistible in its youth, but with great potential for improvement with continued bottle aging. Its magnificent characteristics — harmony, depth, complexity, and seductiveness — are attributed not only to the excellent harvest of Sauvignon and Sémillon grapes harvested from 31-year-old vines but also to the very skillful vinification, which takes place under the supervision of renowned winemaker Michel Rolland. The harvest was handpicked in early September. The juice obtained after slow pressing was fermented at a temperature of 20-22 ºC in oak barrels. The aging on the lees in traditional oak barrels (50% new) lasted for 11 months. The peak maturity of the vintage will be between 2022-2037.
About the Manufacturer
Chateau Malartic Lagraviere is one of the Graves estates, with a rich and complex winemaking history. However, the success story began only in 1997 with the purchase of the estate by Belgian Alfred Alexandre Bonnet and his wife Michel. They transformed it, equipped it with modern facilities, and introduced a special winemaking system using gravity technology, allowing wine and must to be mixed in one container by the force of gravity without the use of pumps. Thanks to the transformations introduced, Chateau Malartic Lagraviere gained worldwide success and recognition, and its white and red wines have come to the forefront among the wines of the Bordeaux province.
