Interesting facts
M. Hostomme, "Tradition" Brut is a very harmonious, balanced, and pleasant champagne made from three grape varieties grown in organic vineyards. Pinot Noir gives the wine structure and length, Pinot Meunier adds fruity tones and freshness, while Chardonnay imparts refinement and elegance to the cuvée. The fermentation of the must with natural yeast cultures takes place in 2500-liter stainless steel tanks for 10-12 days. After natural debourbage, the wine rests until spring, during which malolactic fermentation occurs naturally. Every six weeks, a racking is performed — transferring the wine from the sediment to a new tank, during which it is oxygenated. In May, blending, light filtration, and bottling occur. "Tradition" Brut is aged on the lees in bottles for at least two years. This cuvée offers richness, sophistication, pleasantness, and drinkability, demonstrating an unparalleled "price-quality" ratio.
About the Manufacturer
M. Hostomme is one of the oldest estates in Champagne. The first mentions of this estate are documented in the 16th century. In the late 19th century, Paul Hostomme decided to abandon mixed farming to dedicate himself solely to winemaking and wine production. He also became one of the local leaders in the fight against phylloxera. In the 1930s, Marcel Hostomme produced the first bottles under the "M. Hostomme" brand. Today, the estate is managed by representatives of the fourth generation of the family — Laurent Hostomme and his wife Christelle, who successfully continue the traditions of family winemaking, producing fresh, elegant wines from Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier, and Pinot Noir grapes. The annual production volume is about 100,000 bottles.
