Interesting facts
Bodegas Tridente, Rejon DO is an exquisite dry red wine made from Tempranillo grapes grown in the Rejon vineyard. The vines, some of which are up to 130 years old, are planted in the top layer of gravel on sandy soils. The grapes are carefully hand-harvested into small 15 kg baskets. Fermentation occurs in small tanks at strictly controlled temperatures. The wine is aged in 225-liter French oak barrels for 20 months. The wine is produced by Bodegas Tridente, located in Villanueva de Campeán, 30 km south of Zamora in the heart of the so-called "Land of Wine". The winery is designed for small-scale wine production and aims to preserve the typicity and authenticity of local grape varieties from this unique terroir. Technical guidance is provided by Frank Gonzalez, an Australian enologist of Spanish descent.
